About CIU

Cyprus International University (CIU) is a modern campus University in North Cyprus. Located in the suburb of Haspolat on the outskirts of Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus, CIU was established in 1997. The university consists of students from over 101 countries in the world, studying together where equality, diversity, freedom of expression and beliefs are cherished and valued. CIU's mission is to create a truly international experience by developing and disseminating universal knowledge, for the benefit of all society. Application Procedure

Apply to the University using these easy steps

Apply Online via our website

Fill in the online application form and submit your application with the attached required documents including the signed Rules & Regulations of the University

Evaluation of your Application by the CIU International Office

Once your application has been submitted by us, the CIU International office will evaluate your application for admission

Issuing PAL & Initial Deposit of €1500

If your application is successful, we’ll send you your Provisional Acceptance Letter (PAL) via email stating the initial deposit fee of €1500 (except Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry) must be paid into the CIU bank account to secure your place

04

Confirmation of Initial Deposit & Issuing AL

Once your payment of €1500 (except Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry) is confirmed, you’ll receive your Acceptance Letter (AL) confirming the receipt of your initial deposit

05

Apply for your Transit Visa (if necessary)

If necessary, visit your nearest Turkish Embassy or Consulate and apply for a Transit Visa to North Cyprus

06

Share your Flight details

Once you obtain your Transit Visa, share your Flight details with us for the CIU International Office to arrange your pick up from Ercan Airport, North Cyprus

Tuition Costs

An initial deposit payment fee of € 1500 (except the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry) is required to secure the applicants place at the university. All new International Undergraduate applicants receive an automatic 50% Discount Scholarship on their tuition fees. Since this is not a full scholarship, it’s important that applicants must have funding for their studies.

Tuition Fees with accommodation package payment plans are also available. Undergraduate applicants can choose from a variety of an All-inclusive (tuition fees with accommodation that includes a 3-day meal, bus transportation, etc.) payment package plans. Costs of an All-inclusive payment package plan varies depending on the selected accommodation room type: single, double, double with shared bathroom, triple and quadruple shared room. Scholarship Opportunities

Funding opportunities to ease your financial burden

All Undergraduate international students are automatically granted a 50% tuition fee scholarship and they’re not required to apply for it. International students also have the opportunity to benefit from either 50%, 70% or 100% scholarship opportunities.


Available Scholarship Opportunities


1. Academic Scholarship

Prospective students have an opportunity to apply for an academic scholarship based on academic merit. This type of scholarship offers a 50% to 100% scholarship scheme on tuition and other fees.


2. CIU Sports Scholarship

Prospective students also have an opportunity to apply for the CIU Sports Scholarship as long as they have evidence of sports performance at national level as well as members of the Supreme sports leagues or who will be actively involved in a CIU sports team may apply.


3. Posgraduate Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarship opportunities for Masters and PhD students are also available at Cyprus International University. Graduate students with a valid bachelors diploma of at least 3.50 and above Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) may apply for a scholarship. On the basis of the academic achievements, the Scholarship Committee may grant the applicants with up to 50% scholarship on tuition.

Dormitories

Your Home Away From Home

CIU dormitories are classified as either studios or apartments. The dormitories are located centrally with easy access to the supermarket, laundry facilities, the CIU Sports Arena, mini cinema, library, various cafes and social hangouts. A patient transport vehicle, a Health Care and Psychological Counselling Guidance and Research Centres are also in close proximity to the dormitories to assist students that may require immediate medical attention. Cleaning services are offered in dormitory rooms and common living areas, where cleaning services are carried out according to a specific cleaning program throughout the day.


1. Studios

In studio dormitories, students have options to choose between a single, double, triple or quadruple room. Students also have an option to choose between rooms that have an air-conditioning system, and rooms that have an ensuite bathroom or a shared bathroom with one or two rooms. Studio dormitories offer fully furnished rooms with central heating and hot water systems. Students that select the studio dormitories, are automatically offered the All-Inclusive package payment program that includes a 3-day meal, dormitory and tuition fees at an affordable price.

2. Apartments

Apartment dorms offers two or three bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen, a bathroom and a balcony. These types of dorms are suitable for students who prefer to cook their own meals and live together with their friends. The Apartment dorms varies from a single to double shared room types that can accommodate a total number of three, four or six students in each apartment where selected apartments are equipped with an air conditioning system.
